The Journey So Far — Green Lane Classics
Green Lane Classics didn’t start with spreadsheets or strategy decks. It started on the floor of a garage, elbow-deep in the restoration of a classic Mini, waiting weeks for shims and spacers to arrive from abroad. The delays weren’t just inconvenient — they were a barrier to doing what we love. That frustration became fuel.
From that moment, the mission was clear: build a local stockist that gives Ireland’s classic car custodians faster, easier access to the parts they need — without the drama of international shipping and hidden costs.
Growing One Shelf at a Time
We began with a handful of parts — the ones we knew were hard to find, slow to arrive, or overpriced once customs and admin fees were added. Every new stock line was chosen with care, based on real-world fitment, club feedback, and the kinds of jobs that restorers actually face in the shed.
Today, our shelves carry a growing range of small service and restoration parts for Mini, with MG Morris, Triumph, Land Rover and more in the pipeline — all curated for quality, compatibility, and availability.
We’re not chasing volume; we’re building trust.
Finding Our Footing
Establishing a foothold in the classic car parts world takes time, grit, and a genuine connection to the community. We’ve grown organically — through word of mouth, club referrals, and a digital storefront built for clarity and ease. Our branding reflects the heritage we honour: vintage aesthetics, practical design, and a nod to the green Mini that started it all.
We’ve also thought about having some 'Merch' so launching a line of merchandise — mugs, sticker packs and pens — designed for club members and home restorers who want to wear their passion proudly. You need a decent brew when restoring your classics (We can't make your tea but we can do a nice branded mug) and we also know you need a pen to write down what you need us to get in stock for you, so these will be added soon to our 'Merch' section.
With Thanks to Our Supporters
We wouldn’t be here without the support of some brilliant companies and collaborators.
A heartfelt thank you to: Richmond Classic Car Parts.
First and foremost we have to give a massive thanks to Neil & Jacqui over in Richmond Classic Car Parts based in Mayo, having served the market in Ireland for years now, they have been a super support in getting us up and running, and we wish them well in their retirement.
We also wanted to take a moment, to set out why we need a local source of supply.
Ordering from Green Lane Classics isn’t just about convenience — it’s about avoiding the hidden costs and frustrations of international sourcing.
Here’s what you skip when you shop with us:
- Minimum freight charges — often applied regardless of order size and costing more that the parts needed.
- Customs clearance fees per line item — which can add €5–€15 per part
- Admin fees — which can exceed the value of the item itself
- VAT & Import Duty complications and delays — especially for multi-line orders
- Long lead times — even for the smallest parts
We aim to stock locally, ship quickly, and speak your language — whether you’re chasing a set of shims or prepping a Triumph for a club run. We’re here to help you finish the job, without the lengthy wait.
If you have specific parts in mind, send an enquiry email and who knows, we could add that stock line required for you to preserve your classic vehicle.
